We are pleased to announce that we are seeking students to help expand our Storytelling project by helping to produce short videos to combat anti-Asian hate.
The program will run for five weeks (internship may be extended as needed for production of short film). Main function of video production includes training and supervision by industry professionals. By the end of the program, Interns will have produced a short film reflecting on how the legacies of Asian American history still applies today. Interns will also have the opportunity to learn about Asian American history, especially through the lens of Japanese American history since WWII.
This year’s internship will be themed around famous Japanese American poet and playwright, Hiroshi Kashiwagi, who turned anguished moments in his personal journey into thought-provoking reflections. We will also hear from learned Asian American scholars about how history forms personalities.
